How to Install a Faucet

Installing a new kitchen faucet is a relatively easy way to freshen up a kitchen in a timely manner. Purchasing the parts from the local hardware store, and fitting them into the slots left by the old faucet are both simple steps that a person of any experience level can easily handle. There are several styles of faucets that can give your kitchen sink area a whole new look.
First: Purchase the new faucet
Purchasing the hardware for installing a new faucet is oftentimes the most difficult step. Once this is completed, the rest is easy. It is imperative that you take the old faucet and the individual parts to the hardware store. If the parts are forgotten, you can easily purchase the wrong materials. The materials must match the slots and holes left by the old faucet. If the incorrect materials are purchased, the new faucet cannot fit snugly.
Second: Fit the new equipment onto the site
After purchasing the correct size of materials, the new faucet should fit into the old site very easily. A kit that consists of one solid piece is lowered into the area. If there are multiple pieces, install each separately. Once again, take care when fitting the pieces. If force is necessary, it is likely that the wrong size of materials were purchased. Follow the instructions exactly as you do not want a leak. This is not only costly but an unnoticed leak can cause damage to the cabinet underneath and attract mold.
